Michael Dedenbach

Michael Dedenbach (born November 27, 1898 in Oberzissen , † May 12, 1971 ibid) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending the Oberzissen elementary school, Dedenbach was a worker in Burgbrohl . In 1917 he served as a soldier in the First World War . From 1919 he was employed in the previous company before he attended the private trade school in Koblenz from 1924. He then worked as an office assistant and later became deputy managing director of the Association of Factory Workers in Germany in Andernach . In 1927 he continued his education at the Academy of Labor in Frankfurt am Main , was head of the Andernach branch of the Mayen employment office from 1928 and in 1930 took over management of the Andernach administration of the German factory workers' association. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was released and briefly arrested. From 1934 to 1945 he worked as a self-employed businessman.

From 1945 to 1949 he was chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate Stones and Earths Union.

politics

Dedenbach joined the SPD in 1926. In 1933 he was elected city councilor in Andernach. In the time of National Socialism he could not continue his political work. In 1945 Dedenbach was a full-time alderman and mayor of the city ​​of Andernach . From 1945 to 1961 he was the mayor of the Andernach-Land office. He was also a member of the Andernach city council as well as the district council and the district committee Mayen.

In 1946/47 he was a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and then until 1967 a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament . From 1951 to 1959 he was chairman of the committee for social policy and issues relating to displaced persons. The state parliament elected him in 1959 as a member of the third federal assembly , which elected Heinrich Lübke as federal president .

Since 1919 he was a union member. In 1950 he became a member of the DGB regional board of Rhineland-Palatinate and a main board member of the chemical, paper and ceramic union in Hanover.
