Bernd-Michael Friedrich (born February 13, 1951 in Weimar ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 1990 to 2009 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school, Michael Friedrich studied mathematics in Rostov-on-Don ( USSR ) from 1969 to 1974 . He graduated as a mathematician. In the GDR he then worked from 1974 to 1979 at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig in the mathematics section and from 1979 to 1990 at the Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam-Babelsberg . During this time he received his doctorate in 1981. rer. nat. and in 1987 Dr. sc. pol.

He is married, has two daughters and does not belong to any denomination.

politics

Michael Friedrich joined the SED in 1977 (from 1990 PDS ). For his party, he has been a member of the Delitzsch District Assembly (later Northern Saxony District Assembly ) since 1990 and of the Löbnitz District Council since 1999 .

In 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber and therefore also a member of the German Bundestag for a short time .

From October 1990 to September 2009 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament. There he was deputy chairman of the interior committee . In addition, he was a full member of the Constitutional, Legal and European Committees as well as of the 1st committee of inquiry of the 4th electoral term (subject of the Saxon Landesbank ). For his parliamentary group he was the state parliament spokesman for local politics .
