Michael Haefner

Michael Häfner (born October 14, 1959 ; † January 3, 2005 in Munich ) was a German actor and singer .

Häfner had traveled to South America , completed his training at the International School of Percussion in Munich and made the acquaintance of the Brazilian samba. During his engagement at the Landestheater Coburg he had the idea to found the Samba Festival Coburg . At first, Häfner met with skepticism, but then found support for his idea from Norbert Kastner, then the youngest mayor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and his office manager Frank Rebhan. The festival, which has been held annually in July since 1992, has now developed into the largest event of its kind outside of Brazil, a stronghold of samba dance and samba music .

Häfner has been part of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since 1994 , where he appeared in roles in The Man of La Mancha , The Beggar Student , The Fiddler on the Roof , West Side Story , Kiss me Kate , Countess Mariza and the Csárdásfürstin .

In his television roles, he mainly appeared in series. So he played u. a. in lawyer Abel , SOKO 5113 and in the Dailysoap Marienhof the role of Heinz Trilling . He was seen in films in 1994, including Die goldene Gans . He had his last role as Florian Sammer in the early evening crime series The Rosenheim Cops in the episode Commercial for a corpse .

Michael Häfner, who had suffered from depression for a long time , hanged himself in early 2005.
