Michael Holt (born February 1, 1986 in Haselünne ) is a German soccer player . He is a striker but can also play in attacking midfield.

Life

Holt was born in Haselünne in Emsland and grew up in Helte , a district to the east of Meppen . Until he moved to Kiel he lived with his parents in Helte.

Career

Holt started playing football at SV Bokeloh when he was five . There he was discovered by the then youth coach of SV Meppen , Josef Menke , and at the age of twelve he switched to the C-youth of SV Meppen. There he played in the storm and was appointed to the Emsland team.

In the 2005/06 season Holt made his debut in the first team of SV Meppen and became a regular player. He played 29 games that season and scored ten goals. He was also a regular in the 2006/07 season. He played in all 34 games of the season and scored 19 goals.

For the 2007/08 season Holt signed a two-year contract with Holstein Kiel . In his first season he scored 22 goals in 31 games and became champions in the league with the team. In the following season 2008/09 he played only 15 games, also because of injuries, but scored eight goals and was the second best goalscorer in the season behind Tim Wulff . In the end Holstein was again champion and rose to the 3rd division . There Holt scored 14 goals in 33 games, this time as an attacking midfielder. He was then named Schleswig-Holstein's “Footballer of the Year 2009”.

On August 28, 2010, the Wuppertaler SV Borussia signed him , with whom he finished eighth in the Regionalliga West of the 2010/11 season . In June 2011, Holt finally signed a two-year contract with SV Meppen , who had previously been promoted to the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord.

In June 2013 he was signed by the third division team Preußen Münster , where he only played a third division until the winter break and was transferred to the second team for disciplinary reasons. At the end of January 2014 he was loaned to the regional league team SSVg Velbert until the end of the season. After being out for almost the entire 2014/15 season due to Achilles tendon complaints, he had been without a club since July 1, 2015. At the beginning of February 2016 he signed a contract for the second half of the season with the 2nd team from Holstein Kiel in the Schleswig-Holstein League . In summer 2017 he joined TSV Schilksee , which he left again in January 2018.
