Michael Hugentobler (born February 6, 1981 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss entrepreneur , former teacher and former politician ( CVP ) from the canton of St. Gallen .

Life

Hugentobler grew up in St. Gallen. In 1988 he started primary school in St. Gallen, then went to the secondary school KKSS Kloster , and in 2003 he graduated from the Rorschach teacher training college . He then served in the Swiss Army in 2003/04 as an internet officer for Territorial Region 4. In 2003/04 he founded a web design company and worked as a ski instructor. From 2004 he was a specialist teacher at the Catholic secondary school Flade in St. Gallen. From 2006 to 2009 he studied "Bachelor of Science in secondary education, phil 2" at the St. Gallen University of Education . From 2009 he was a class teacher for mathematics at the Flade Secondary School. From 2012 to 2014 he studied business law at the Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences .

Hugentobler worked as a teacher until July 2017, most recently at the Catholic secondary school Flade in St. Gallen. From 2014 to January 14, 2019, he worked at the school as an IT manager, IT supporter and consultant, from August 2018 on a contract with his company.

He is the owner and managing director of the web agency alea iacta digital GmbH. Hugentobler has been married since 2016 and has one son (as of 2018). His places of origin are St. Gallen, Oberuzwil and Bichwil SG.

From 2012 he was Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Historical and Ethnological Museum St. Gallen.

Political career

In politics, Hugentobler had been a member of the Cantonal Council and chairman of the CVP's ​​Education and Training Commission since June 2016 . From 2014 to 2017 he was President of the CVP of the City of St. Gallen.

From 2008 to 2018 he was a member of the St. Gallen City Parliament. From 2013 to 2016 he was President of the Business Audit Commission of the City of St. Gallen. From 2017 he was also Vice President of the CVP-GLP parliamentary group in the Cantonal Council.

On January 14, 2019 he resigned as Cantonal down and resigned from the CVP, after it was revealed that he in December 2018 by punishment for attempted sexual acts with a child and pornography to a conditional fine of 180 daily rates of 100 francs and a fine of 3,600 francs had been finally convicted. He gave up his teacher license.
