Michael John Malone

Michael John Malone (born October 23, 1939 in Willoughby ) is Old Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle .

Life

The Archbishop of Sydney , Norman Thomas Cardinal Gilroy ordained him on July 18, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Maitland on December 12, 1994 . The Bishop of Maitland, Leo Morris Clarke , ordained him episcopal on February 15 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Patrick Laurence Murphy , Bishop of Broken Bay , and Peter William Ingham , Auxiliary Bishop in Sydney.

With the resignation of Leo Morris Clarke on November 3, 1995, he succeeded him as Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle. He resigned from his office on April 4, 2011.
