The Diocese of Broken Bay (Latin Dioecesis Sinus Tortuosi , English Diocese of Broken Bay ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Australia with its seat in Pennant Hills (Sydney). The diocese covers the region Broken Bay , north of the city of Sydney in the state of New South Wales in Australia.
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary is located in Waitara . In St Ives is the former Corpus Christi Parish cathedral .
history
Pope John Paul II founded with the Apostolic Constitution Quippe cum aeternam on April 8, 1986 the diocese from ceded territory of the Archdiocese of Sydney , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
