history
The diocese Wilcannia-Forbes was on June 10, 1887 by Pope Pius IX. from the cession of the dioceses of Armidale , Bathurst and Goulburn as the diocese of Wilcannia and the Archdiocese of Sydney as a suffragan . The diocese of Wilcannia was renamed the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes on July 28, 1917 .
