The approximately 655 ha large nature reserve Ossenberg - Fehr Busch is located in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony . It has the same area and name as the FFH area 154, which was eliminated in 2015 .
It is located west of Göttingen between Dransfeld and Barterode north of the B 3 and 6 km west of the A 7 . It is registered with the Lower Saxony State Office for Water Management, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN) under the registration number NSG BR 92 .
The area is characterized by near-natural oak-hornbeam forests and beech forests of various shapes. This includes a species-rich ground vegetation on shell limestone weathered soils . The Hünenburg cultural monument and geotope no. 4424/04 , a basalt dike in the shell limestone, are located in the nature reserve .
history
With the first ordinance of 13 July 1994, the Ossenberg - Fehrenbusch area was declared a nature reserve. The district of Göttingen is responsible as the lower nature conservation authority.
