Rhumeaue / Ellerniederung / Gillersheimer Bachtal is a nature reserve in the districts of Göttingen and Northeim .
location
It consists of the river Rhume including the Rhume spring and its tributary Eller from the border with the Eichsfeld district downriver to the mouth of the Oder near Katlenburg and a brook near Gillersheim . Since the Rhume flows through a wide flood plain shortly after its source and represents a typical middle course, the Eller forms the upper course of the river system as a tributary. The nature reserve belongs to the Weser-Leine-Bergland . To the east of the Oder estuary is the Oderaue nature reserve .
The floodplain with alluvial forest and adjacent smaller biotopes as well as the Rhume spring are also part of it. The biotopes worthy of protection in the area include reed beds , sedge beds and herbaceous vegetation . The nature reserve is 930 hectares . The protection came into force in 1990.
