The Linen Niederung Salzderhelden is a nature reserve in the Northeim district . It is 497 hectares and is located in the municipal areas of Einbeck and Northeim . It has been under nature protection since 2008 and is part of the Weser and Leinebergland natural area .
The area is an extensive wet meadow-like bank area of the Leine . It is a resting area for migratory birds and duck species. It is also a breeding area for the corncrake . Guest birds are u. a. Greenshank , ruff , lapwing and shoveler . It extends in the north to the location of Müllershausen belonging to Vogelbeck , in the east to Hohnstedt and as far as the vicinity of Edesheim and in the west to Stöckheim , Drüber and Sülbeck . It borders on the nature reserves “ Polder I in the Salzderhelden flood retention basin ” and “ Northeimer Seenplatte water bird reserve ”.
The Leine-Heide-Radweg , Landesstraße 572 and Bundesstraße 3 run along the area.
