nature
The reserve used to be the center of a grazing system that created dry grasslands . To safeguard the population, goats and sheep graze them again. In order to promote the development of the area, coniferous wood stocks were removed and replaced by deciduous trees that are appropriate to the location.
The varied landscape, consisting of near-natural dry limestone lawns, their stages of shrubbery and woody areas make up the special beauty of the area. The dry grassland itself is only loosely made up of a few pine trees.
Flora and fauna
Due to the location with extreme conditions, e.g. B. with regard to temperature fluctuations, the area is a habitat corresponding to adapted animal and plant species in high diversity and with great biodiversity.
Typical plant species from the dry grassland such as golden and silver thistle , fringed gentian , great speedwell, etc. can be found in the area, as well as a whole range of orchid species such as mosquito handelwort , fly orchid and stately orchid . Species such as hawthorn and sloe dominate the bushy areas . In terms of animal species, there are particularly many groups of insects and reptiles in the area.
