The Husum Valley is a nature reserve in the Northeim district .
The area is east of Northeim and reaches as far as Hammenstedt . The Hammenstedter Bach (a tributary of the Rhume ) and its floodplain with the adjoining wet meadows shape the appearance of the protected area. The name refers to the Husum desert near Hammenstedt.
The purpose of protection is to preserve the biotopes networked here, including small still waters .
The nature reserve is 123 hectares in size. The protection came into force in 1985.
