Seeanger, Retlake, Suhletal is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Landolfshausen , Seulingen , Seeburg and Ebergötzen in the joint municipality of Radolfshausen and Rollshausen , Krebeck and Wollbrandshausen in the joint municipality of Gieboldehausen in the district of Göttingen .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG BR 147 is around 400  hectares in size. It was designated in order to convert the approximately 391 hectare FFH area "Seeanger, Retlake, Suhletal" into a protected area in accordance with the Federal Nature Conservation Act. It is also part of the 13,710 hectare EU bird sanctuary "Unteres Eichsfeld". In parts it borders on the landscape protection areas "Untereichsfeld" and "Leinebergland". A sub-area near Seeburg borders directly on the " Seeburger See " nature reserve . The area has been under protection since November 13, 2015. It partially replaces the "Untereichsfeld" landscape protection area designated in 2004 and the "Leinebergland" landscape protection area designated in 2005. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Göttingen.

The nature reserve, which consists of eight sub-areas, is located northwest of Duderstadt . It provides the lowlands of Retlake southwest of Wollbrandshausen, parts of the lowlands of the floodplain and the Seeanger in Seeburg, the Lutteranger northeast of Seeburg and parts of the lowlands of Suhle between Landolfshausen and Rollshausen and the west lie of Landolfshausen Schweckhäuser and Langenberg meadows under protection.

Various types of biotopes can be found in the nature reserve . In the source area of ​​the swell west of Landolfshausen, with the Schweckhäuser meadows, as well as in the area of ​​the Retlake lowland, lime-rich fens can be found. Seeanger and Lutteranger are subrosion sinks that have formed over Zechstein layers . In the depressions , the Westersee had formed in the area of ​​the Seeanger and the Luttersee in the area of ​​the Lutteranger. Large parts of the area have been drained and cultivated since the 1950s . In 1988 the district of Göttingen started a renaturation project in the area. Extensive grazing and no fertilization resulted in species-rich grassland in the years that followed . The sinks were 2,003 rewetted . The sea anger is characterized by shallow water zones and open wet grassland . This and the fen areas in the nature reserve are an important habitat for numerous plant species, the nappy snail species four-toothed nappy snail , which has its only known occurrence here in northwest Germany, and narrow nappy snail and numerous species of birds . In the Luttanger a still water has developed, which is surrounded by alluvial forest areas . The shallow water and wet grassland zones of the sea angler are habitat u. a. for white stork , lapwing , water rail , red-backed shrike , black and Bluethroat , all also breed here. The area is also an important feeding habitat for migratory birds . During the bird migration u. a. Crane , seeds , barnacle , fire and white-fronted goose , snipe , ruff , red and green legs , black-tailed godwit , lapwing and Alpenstrand- and Sandpiper one. Other bird species that occur in the nature reserve are red and black kites and kingfisher .

The fen areas and the brook floodplains are often characterized by grassland of varying intensity of use as well as alluvial forest remnants of black alder , ash and willow as well as pedunculate oak and hazel . In the herb layer settle u. a. Chickweed , giant fescue and bitter foam cabbage . The remains of the alluvial forest have a high proportion of old and dead wood . Settle on unused fen and a. Rosebay and Broad cotton grass , Carex Flacca , millet and Drahtsegge , Bogbean , Juncus Subnodulosus , Marsh Orchid , Parnassus , Marsh trident and bald Wurz . Small and large sedge areas are partially formed.

The species-rich meadows are partly characterized as pipe grass meadows or lean lowland hay meadows . The pipe grass meadows accommodate u. a. Caraway-leaved silge , dull-flowered bulrush , adder's tongue , broad-leaved orchid , brook avens , small valerian and devil's bite . Settle on the hay meadows and a. Meadowfoam , meadow pea , ribwort , buttercup , red clover and stalk grass . Furthermore, cuckoo- light carnations and meadowfoam can be found in the nature reserve . Wet meadows are habitat for a variety of locusts , including marsh insects and short-winged sword insects . Retlake, Aue and wallow be in parts of woody plants and damp Hochstaudenfluren with Genuine meadowsweet , shaggy fireweed , purple loosestrife , marsh cranesbill , loosestrife accompanied and others. The streams often have unobstructed banks with largely natural flow dynamics. The floodplains are flooded during flooding. In the streams flooding settled aquatic vegetation . The streams are habitat and a. the brook lamprey , which occurs primarily in the wallow, and various dragonflies , including the blue-winged dragonfly and the banded dragonfly . Furthermore, large pond clams , painter clams and large river clams are native to the waters in the nature reserve .

A fish pond at the Trudelshäuser Mühle located between Landolfshausen and Seulingen in the lowland of the Suhle was renatured at the beginning of 2015 and the area has been grazed extensively with cattle since summer 2015.

Parts of the areas worthy of protection were removed from the scope of the Nature Conservation Ordinance during the procedure for designating a nature reserve. These include parcels in the area of ​​the localities along the floodplain near Börgemühle and Seeburg, the floodplain between Bernshausen and Germershausen and the swell near Landolfshausen, Seulingen and Germershausen.

The nature reserve borders on localities in several places and is otherwise mainly surrounded by agricultural land .
