Michael Kammermeyer

Michael Kammermeyer (born January 14, 1986 in Nuremberg ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player .

Player career

Michael Kammermeyer played as a central defender in his youth first for Post SV Nürnberg and then for 1. FC Nürnberg . From 2005 he was used for the club's second team in the Oberliga Bayern . From January to July 2007 he went to the United States to study and played for the team at Nova Southeastern University . It was followed by his return to the second team of FCN and again assignments in the Oberliga Bayern.

For his pro debut Kammermeyer came on 31 October 2007 in the German Cup in 2007/08 when he was in the second round of the competition for the defending champions 1. FC Nuremberg against the then second division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 63 minutes for Jan Kristiansen substitute was and lost after extra time with his team on penalties. In 2007 he became a licensed player, which he remained until 2010.

In the following season, Kammermeyer officially moved up to the professional squad of Nuremberg. But then he only came to work as the captain of the second team, now in what was then the Regionalliga Süd. From 2012, after starting his coaching career, Kammermeyer played repeatedly with breaks for the lower-class TSV Behringersdorf, the ATSV Erlangen (Landesliga Bayern Nordost and Bayernliga Nord) and from mid-2019 for 1. SC Feucht (Landesliga Bayern Nordost).

Coaching career

From the 2012/13 season, Michael Kammermeyer was initially assistant coach of the U19 team at 1. FC Nürnberg and from September 2012 assistant coach for the U17 team of the club under Pellegrino Matarazzo . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he joined Matarazzo again as assistant coach for the A-youth team at FCN. From July to November 2016, Kammermeyer was head coach of the U17 team of TSV 1860 Munich .

For the 2020/21 Bundesliga season , Kammermeyer began working again with Pellegrino Matarazzo as assistant coach of the first division team at VfB Stuttgart and took on responsibility for analysis on the coaching staff.
