Michael Marwitz (born March 21, 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actor .

Marwitz first studied violin for two years at the Music Conservatory in Bremen. From 1976 to 1979 he completed an acting training at the Folkwang School in Essen. First there were theater appearances such as in Shakespeare plays King Lear or Othello .

Later Marwitz also held numerous television and some film roles. He played leading roles in the films Zugzwang in 1989, directed by Mathieu Carrière, and Death in Shallow Water in 1994.

Marwitz also played the role of Kurt Sperling in the ARD series Lindenstrasse from 1993 to April 2000. In the 1754th episode of March 1, 2020 with the title Die Geister, who called Helga, he had a guest appearance as a ghost.

In the summer of 2006 he played Weislingen in Götz von Berlichingen at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival under the direction of Jan Aust . Private

Michael Marwitz comes from an old family of actors. His father was the actor Horst Mehring (real name Horst Marwitz), his grandparents were the actor couple Hofschauspieler Oskar Mehring (real name: Oskar Marwitz) and court actress Frieda Jahn. Marwitz is married and has a daughter. His wife runs a speech therapy practice in Wiesbaden. He has lived there since 2017.
