Michael Mellinger (born May 30, 1929 in Kochel am See , Bavaria , † March 17, 2004 in London ) was a German actor .

Michael Mellinger was born in the Bavarian city ​​of Kochel. He came from a family of actors. He was sent to boarding school in England and graduated from the North London Polytechnic as a radio engineer. He assimilated into British society and joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers . During the Second World War he served on the side of the British in Burma and Ceylon with the radio SEAC , where he worked as a disc jockey. Before he joined REME, Winston Churchill had issued the order: 'Collar the lot'. This led to the fact that Mellinger, like German-Jewish immigrants who had fled from Hitler, was also classified as enemy alien . He was taken to a detention camp near Kempton Park , Surrey. He was later taken to The Dunera in Australia. After this detention he joined the British Army . He later trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama . He became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Berliner Ensemble . His most famous role was that of the henchman Kisch in Bond film Goldfinger . Here a spectacular fall occurred, but Mellinger did not make it himself: the stuntman Bob Simmons took over the fall.

Michael Mellinger died on March 17, 2004 at the age of 74.
