Roger Young

Roger Young (born May 13, 1942 in Champaign , Illinois ) is an American director, screenwriter and producer.

Roger Young began his career in the film business as a television series director in the late 1970s. In 1980 he directed two episodes of the Magnum series , a year later he made his first television film with Bitter Harvest , one role was played by Ron Howard . The film was nominated for four Emmys, including Young for Best Director . Numerous other TV productions followed. From 1978 to 1982 he was the director for a total of 14 episodes of the series Lou Grant , in 1980 he was awarded an Emmy for this. He was also involved in the series as an associate producer . One of his most famous films is the film adaptation of Agent Without a Name . This film is based on the book The Bourne Identity by author Robert Ludlum . Young made his debut as a screenwriter in 1991 with the film The Drug Cop , which he also directed as a director. From the mid-1990s he was involved as a director in a number of Bible adaptations, in 1995 he made his first contribution to this major project with Die Bibel - Josef , which began in 1994 with the film Die Bibel - Genesis . During this time he worked again as a screenwriter. In 2007 he shot an episode of the series Rome , in the same year he also worked as a one-time director for the TV series The Closer . In 2009 he directed two episodes of the Law & Order series . Further work for television followed, most recently the miniseries The Red Tent in 2014 .
