Friends Jeff and Marty are dissatisfied with their marriages and are going through a midlife crisis . During a time out together in the Philippines , they meet Andy and they both fall in love with her. They begin a relationship with Andy and leave their families. Andy and her friend Kozen also introduce the two men to the teachings of Buddhism . After spending time together, Andy falls in love with Jeff more and more and wants to bond with him. However, Jeff begins to miss his family and decides to leave the island.

The film premiered at Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival in October 1998 and was released in American theaters on October 9, 1999. The film was released in Germany on June 14, 2001 directly on DVD and video cassette .
