A Knight in Camelot (Original title: A Knight in Camelot ) is an American film comedy by Roger Young in 1998. The plot of the Disney - Fantasy - television movie based on the novel A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court ( A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court ) by Mark Twain .

Dr. Vivien Morgan is transported to the time of King Arthur during a scientific experiment. She has her notebook and some other devices with her. Sir Sagramour has her arrested as a witch. Dr. Morgan uses her notebook to research the 6th century and realizes that a solar eclipse will occur shortly. She succeeds in convincing the superstitious inhabitants of her “magical” abilities by letting the “vanished sun” shine again, and so she is appointed Knight of the Round Table by King Arthur as Sir Boss .
Sir Boss sets out to improve the living conditions in Camelot with various modern inventions and to convince the residents that there is no need for serfs or slaves for daily work . But that doesn't just make her friends at court. When she is challenged to a duel by Sir Sagramour, she can beat him with kung fu and other modern fighting techniques. Later Sir Sagramour fights against a boy friend of Sir Boss , whose family he once killed. Sir Sagramour is beaten again and handed over to the court of the Knights of the Round Table. The boy is made a knight by King Arthur.
Sir Boss persuades King Arthur to get to know the everyday life of the common people in his kingdom in disguise, whereby they are arrested and are to be hanged. However, Clarence, the boy, manages to escape and Dr. Free Morgan and the King. At the subsequent celebration in the castle (with music from her boom box ), Dr. Morgan the wizard Merlin, who sends her back to her century. Merlin appears there in a contemporary suit and opens a door with his magic wand through which you can see the universe. Dr. Morgan asks if she can come and Merlin says he could use an apprentice.

The lexicon of international films judges: “Another film adaptation of the Mark Twain story, this time as a vehicle for Whoopi Goldberg, who is supposed to create a good mood with only meager gags. A movie in typical Disney fashion that wants to serve the whole family, but doesn't please anyone. "
Ryan Cracknell described the film in the Apollo Guide as " uninspired ", " funny " and " mediocre ". It is made too " harmless " to be entertaining.
