Michael Pabst
Michael Pabst (born August 7, 1942 in Graz ) is an Austrian opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
After his training in Austria, Pabst worked as a choir singer at the Vienna State Opera between 1972 and 1980 . First solo roles followed at the Salzburg State Theater and the Augsburg Theater . Further stations in his career included engagements at the Volksoper Vienna , the Cologne Opera House and the Vienna State Opera.
In 1984 and 1985 he was the first Knight of the Grail in the Bayreuth Parsifal , which was then published as a complete recording by Philips (1985). In 1988 he made his debut as Erik in the Flying Dutchman at La Scala in Milan . Further engagements led him to a. to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Opéra national de Bordeaux and the State Operas in Munich, Stuttgart and Hamburg.
The main focus of his work were the works of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss .
