Michael pause

Michael Pause (* 1952 in Munich ) is a Munich broadcaster, filmmaker , journalist and author .

After studying political and communication sciences , he attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. He was best known for his films and for moderating the mountain magazine Bergauf-Bergab on Bavarian television since May 1998. Michael Pause headed the Bergauf-Bergab and Freizeit (TV program) editorial team on Bayerischer Rundfunk's television until his retirement in April 2018. He thus succeeded Hermann Magerer , who has directed the Bergauf-Bergab program since its inception in 1975. Michael Düchs will moderate and edit Bergauf-Bergab. Michael Pause published a large number of mountain books and articles for mountain magazines. He is also director of the Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival . Pause worked in the editorial department of Berge magazine from 1984 and was editor-in-chief until 2008.

Michael Pause is the son of the writer and mountaineer Walter Pause .
