Michael Sands

Michael "Mike" Sands (born July 1, 1953 ) is a former Bahamian sprinter .

In 1970 he was eliminated from the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh over 100 m and 200 m in the run.

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and was eliminated over 200 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 1975 he won the 400 m athletics Central America and Caribbean Championships . At the Pan American Games in Mexico City , he won bronze over 200 m and was fourth over 400 m.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he reached the quarter-finals over 400 m and was eliminated over 100 m in the preliminary run.

Starting for Pennsylvania State University , he was NCAA hall champion over 440 yards in 1975 .
