Michael Schomers

Michael Schomers (born April 2, 1949 in Essen ; † June 23, 2016 ) was a German television journalist , author , director and producer who worked in the fields of investigative journalism and television reporting.

Life

After training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant Schomers made the High School on the second chance . He completed his studies in pedagogy , psychology , sociology and political science as a qualified pedagogue .

From 1979 to 1981 Schomers was a research assistant at the "Institute for Media Didactics" at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Education in Koblenz . From 1982 he worked as a freelance journalist. In 1991 he founded "Lighthouse Film & Medienproduktion".

In addition to his journalistic activities, Schomers held teaching positions at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences , the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and the Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences . From 2011 he was head of the film / television department at WAM - Die Medienakademie, together with cameraman Markus Schott . In 2010 he founded the Hagerhof television school at the Hagerhof Castle Gymnasium in Bad Honnef.
