Michael Stadler

Michael Aurel Stadler (born December 1, 1941 in Berlin ) is a professor emeritus for psychology at the University of Bremen , a specialist psychologist for forensic psychology , an expert in forensic polygraphy and a prominent representative of Gestalt psychology and Gestalt theory .

life and work

After attending school in Bielefeld and Burgsteinfurt , Stadler graduated from high school in 1962 and began studying psychology, philosophy , art science and neurophysiology at the University of Münster . He obtained his diploma in psychology in 1967. He completed his doctoral studies at this university under the Gestalt psychologist Wolfgang Metzger in 1968 with a doctorate. phil. (Major in Psychology, Minors in Art Science and Neurophysiology). 1967–1972 Stadler was a research assistant to Wolfgang Metzger, and in 1972 he qualified as a professor at the University of Münster in psychology. This was followed for a few years as a scientific adviser and professor for social psychology on a general methodological basis and finally in 1980 he was appointed university professor (C4) at the University of Bremen.

In addition to numerous research papers and publications on general psychology , cognitive research , forensic psychology , the history and topicality of gestalt theory, 185–199. as well as synergetics , Stadler also presented a number of publications in the field of numismatics and nautical science , an expression of his more personal-private inclinations.

Michael A. Stadler was a co-founder of the international society for Gestalt theory and its applications and has been a member of the editorial board and later of the advisory board of the journal Gestalt Theory since its inception .
