Michael Strempel (* 2. November 1965 in Troisdorf-Sieglar ) is a German journalist was until 2012 ARD - Studio Director in Paris and heads the foreign department of the WDR television.

Strempel studied history, political science and modern German studies in Bonn and Cardiff . After a short stint at the Bonner General-Anzeiger , he completed a traineeship at WDR . There he then worked as a presenter , author and head of service for various programs. In 1999 he moved to the ARD studio in Bonn. Until 2002 he was in Berlin for Phoenix .

From 2004 to 2007 he was the ARD correspondent in Brussels and from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2012 he headed the ARD television studio in Paris. Since July 2012 he has headed the international television department of WDR and moderated the Weltspiegel .
