career

The defender belonged to the Eintracht-Elf, which won the championship title in the amateur league Rhineland in the 1975/76 season and prevailed in the promotion round Southwest against the competitors Wormatia Worms and Borussia Neunkirchen and thus achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. With the newcomers Helmut Bergfelder , Rolf Bauerkämper , Reiner Brinsa and Heinz Histing , the newcomer took 17th place in 1976/77. Due to the voluntary return of the license by SV Röchling Völklingen, Trier remained in the 2nd Bundesliga. Veit had played all 38 league games for the team from the Mosel Stadium under the coaches Hans-Wilhelm Loßmann and Hans-Dieter Roos (from January 1977).

The best placement achieved the record player of the Eintracht in the 2nd Bundesliga with the black-blue-whites in the 1980/81 season when under coach Werner Kern the eighth place in the 20s season of the southern group was reached. On the 38th matchday Trier said goodbye with a 4-0 defeat at FC Homburg from the 2nd division. The good result earned the Eintracht mainly through the home record of 29: 9 points. Michael Veit had again played 37 league games alongside his teammates Alfred Wahlen (goalkeeper), Harald Aumeier , Reiner Brinsa, Gerd Fink , Erwin Hermandung , Lothar Leiendecker (19 goals) and Franz Michelberger . After the season, the single-track 2nd Bundesliga was introduced and Trier was included in the amateur league.

After his playing career, he is in the old men team (AH over 40) of Eintracht in the Trier-Saarburg league alongside other former football players of the club, such as Dieter Lüders , Rudi Thömmes and Werner Kartz . In 2012 he was honored by the Moselans for 50 years of association membership.
