Mikhail Vladimirovich Krug ( Russian Михаил Владимирович Круг ., Scientific transliteration Mikhail Vladimirovič pitcher , his real surname was Воробьёв (Worob'jow), Krug was his stage name; *  7. April 1962 ; †  1. July 2002 in Tver ) was a Russian Singer -Songwriter and one of the most popular representatives of Russian chanson .

Career

Mikhail Krug had his first music album Tverskije Ulitsy (Russian Тверские улицы , which means “The Streets of Tver”) recorded in a recording studio in Tver. The second album Katja (Russian Катя ) and the third untitled album were recorded there.

In the further course of his career Krug published several songs in which prison romance had found its expression; he had no criminal record and used to in Russia very common jail jargon that Феня (Fenya), which he only музыка from the Блатная, a dictionary knew about the prison jargon. His songs quickly found popularity, both among those with a criminal background and bystanders.

His hit Wladimirski Zentral (the popular name of a remand prison in Vladimir ) is known to almost everyone in Russia.

On the night of June 30th to July 1st, 2002, Mikhail Krug was attacked by two unknown perpetrators in his home in Tver and shot down with several bullets. He died shortly after in the hospital. The background to the crime is presumed to be robbery, in which the singer is said to have defended himself. The body of the alleged perpetrator Dmitri Wesselow was found in 2012, 10 years after his murder. A former gang member confirmed in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda in 2014 that Vesselov was Krug's murderer.

  • The documentary "Bard Michail Krug" (Russian Бард Михаил Круг - The songwriter Michail Krug), recorded in 1994, was only released in 1999 by the Russian television channel "Kultura" (Russian Культура - The Culture).
  • The music film Vladimirsky Central was recorded in 2005, it shows Krug as a prisoner in Vladimirsky Central, and his greatest hits are played in the film. In some excerpts parts of the original music videos are processed, mainly Krug is played by an actor.
