Micheil Aschwetia ( Georg . მიხეილ აშვეთია ; born November 10, 1977 in Kutaisi ) is a former Georgian football player.

The ten-time Georgian international switched from Russian first division club Rubin Kazan to German second division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena during the 2006/07 winter break . The striker was previously under contract with Lokomotiv Moscow and FC Copenhagen , among others .

Micheil Aschwetia played five games for the Georgian national soccer team in 2003 and scored one goal. In 2005 he played three times for the national team and twice in attack in 2006, but could not score any goals. With Rubin Kazan he reached 5th place in the Russian Premier League in 2006 . In the 2006/2007 season he played five times for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the 2nd Bundesliga , scored five goals and thus played a major role in staying up. During the summer break of 2007 he left FC Carl Zeiss Jena again. His new club was the Russian second division Anzhi Makhachkala . This was followed by the stations Dynamo Barnaul and FK Nizhny Novgorod . At the end of 2009, the Georgian ended his career.
