Michel Viaud

Michel Henri Marcel Marc Viaud (born February 15, 1940 in Nantes , † May 16, 2001 off the coast of Madagascar ) was a French rower .

Michel Viaud, rowing for CA Nantes , finished fourth with the French eighth at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. The eighth with Christian Puibaraud , Jean-Luis Bellet , Émile Clerc , Jean Ledoux , Gaston Mercier , Bernard Meynadier , Joseph Moroni , Michel Viaud and helmsman Alain Bouffard had taken second place behind the Germany eighth and won his hope run.

At the European Championships in 1961 , the French eighth in the line-up Christian Puibaraud, Jean-Luis Bellet, Joseph Moroni, Robert Dumontois , Gaston Mercier, Bernard Meynadier, Émile Clerc, Michel Viaud and Alain Bouffard. The French won the bronze medal behind the Italians and the Germans.

The first rowing world championships were held in 1962 . At the premiere in Lucerne , the French eighth started with the cast of Christian Puibaraud, Jean-Pierre Bellet, Jacques Morel , Joseph Moroni, Georges Morel , Robert Dumontois, Bernard Meynadier, Michel Viaud and Alain Bouffard. The Germany eight won the title in front of the boat from the Soviet Union and the French.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, there were five rowers from 1962, Dumontois, Meynadier, Moroni, Viaud and Bouffard, plus André Fevret , Pierre Maddaloni , Jean-Pierre Grimaud and André Sloth . The French eighth took second place behind the boat from the Soviet Union. In the hope race, the Italians won ahead of the French, who only reached the B final and finished seventh in the overall standings as the winner of the B final.
