The Michelbach , also Michlbach , is a brook in the communities of Schlaiten and St. Johann im Walde ( district of Lienz ). The Michelbach flows into the Isel from the right at Neugarten (municipality of St. Johann im Walde) .

course

The Michlbach is located in the upper reaches of the municipality of Schlaiten and forms the municipality boundary between St. Johann and Schlaiten over long stretches of its course. It rises as an outflow of the Zagoritzsee at an altitude of 2243 meters in the Villgraten mountains . It initially runs in an east-northeast direction to the Michelbacheralm, in the area of which the Ochsenalmbach joins on the right and then flows further in a north-easterly direction, where a short time later the Weißenbach joins on the right. To the north of the Weißenbach confluence, the Michelbach has formed a waterfall, after which it flows through the alpine pastures of Klosterfrauenalm, Huberalm and Nagelalm. The rest of the river of the Michelbach, however, is characterized by narrow forest gorges. The Michelbach only enters the Isel valley shortly before its confluence , where it flows into the Isel from the right at the village of Neugarten. Shortly before its mouth, the water of the stream feeds a small lake.
