Michele Accorinti

Michele Accorinti (born November 20, 1888 in Reggio Calabria , † August 25, 1973 in Luserna San Giovanni ) was an Italian pianist , singer ( tenor ), music teacher and composer .

Life

Michele Accorinti's father was the singer (tenor) and composer Domenico Accorinti (1847-1905). He studied at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Maiella in Naples . Here he graduated in singing, choral singing and composition. In the first few years after graduating, he performed as a tenor singer, but discovered his talent as a singing teacher. During this time he also gained musical experience as a choir director and conductor. He was appointed by Francesco Cilea as assistant to Agostino Rochis (* 1861) and as a singing lecturer at the Conservatory in Naples. He later received his chair. In 1931 he switched to the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Conservatory in Turin, now the Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" di Torino , as a singing professor . He taught here until 1963. His students included Giuseppe Valdengo and Enrico Fissore .
