Microdevario is a three types comprehensive genus very small danios (Danioninae) from the mainland Southeast Asia . It occurs in Thailand and Burma . The genus name is made up of "mikros" ( size : small) and the name of the closely related genus Devario .
features
The Microdevario species only reach body lengths of 15 to 23 mm, are partially transparent, with a yellowish or greenish shimmer and yellow or silvery belly and transparent fins. The pectoral fins are sickle-shaped. A characteristic feature of the genus is a semicircular depression on the parasphenoid that does not occur in any other genus of the Danionini tribe and is also rare in other carp fish. A double instead of a single ligament between the premaxillary and the kinethmoid, a typical carp-like bone, they share with Chela , Laubuca and Devario and show their close relationship to these genera. Microdevario differs from the three genera by the lack of a groove on the supraorbitalia, a skull bone, and the concave outer edge of the dorsal and anal fin. From Microrasbora , another Bärblingsgattung with dwarfism, differs Microdevario by numerous features of the skull anatomy.
Other features, but not autapomorphies , are the absence of barbels , the absence of perforated scales for the lateral line organ, and the lower number of trunk vertebrae compared to the caudal vertebrae.
- Scale formula : mLR 24–26 + 1–2, 10–13 scales in front of the dorsal fin.
- Fin formula : Dorsal : 2–3 / 7–8; Anal : 3 / 9–13, ventral : 6–7, caudal : 10 + 9 main rays, 9 + 8 branched rays.
Systematics
