Apartment building Brunnenstrasse 34
The Building Brunnenstrasse 34 is located in the Rosenthaler suburb , a neighborhood in the Berlin district center . The three-storey residential building was built in 1854 and is listed as a monument in the Berlin State Monument Listregistered. The construction of the front staircase is of particular historical interest, with arched steps in the wall and on an iron girder. Only a few new buildings complied with the building regulations issued in 1853, according to which the stairs had to be protected by solid walls and made of fire-resistant material. The staircase no longer branches off directly from the passage - as was common practice until 1840 - but is housed in its own stairwell . The apartment doors and wooden banisters from the construction period are almost completely preserved.
