Miguel Ángel Gallardo Valles (born July 8, 1981 in Chihuahua ) is a retired Mexican tennis player .

Career

Miguel Gallardo Valles mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . He celebrated 16 single and 17 double victories on the Future Tour. On the Challenger Tour, he has won the single tournament in Puebla twice (in 2001 and 2004), the double tournaments in Puebla in 2002, the tournament in León twice in 2004 and 2006 and the tournament in Mexico City in 2007 . On August 12, 2002 he broke through the top 200 of the world rankings for the first time in singles and his highest place was a 189th place in October 2002. In doubles he broke through the top 200 of the world rankings for the first time on April 19, 2004 and his highest place here was a 174th rank in June 2004.

He made his debut on the ATP World Tour in February 2003 at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco , where he received a wildcard for the main draw, but failed there in the first round to Agustín Calleri . In 2004-2006 he also failed in the opening round of the tournament in Acapulco.

He made his first appearance on the World Tour in doubles together with Bruno Echagaray , also at the tournament in Acapulco in February 2004. After a surprising victory in the first round, the two reached the quarter-finals, where they beat Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski lost 2: 6 and 4: 6. In the years 2005–2007 and 2013 he also received a wildcard, but could not finish a main round game victoriously with alternating double partners.

Gallardo Valles has played for the Mexican Davis Cup team since 2001 . For this he competed in 21 encounters, with a balance of 18:13 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.

He played his last tournament in Mexico in September 2014.
