Mihály Gubis (born April 4, 1948 in Békéscsaba , † May 17, 2006 in Mundelsheim ) was a Hungarian painter and sculptor .

He learned the piano, then the Spanish guitar. When his finger was cut off in a print shop, he had to stop playing. The music has no direct effect on his further art. In 1969 he continued his studies in Budapest with Gyula Xantus . His artistic focus was on screen printing , sculptures, installations and drawing (abstract painting).

He lived in Békéscsaba until his death.

On the occasion of an artist show in the Ludwigsburg district along the Neckar , he suffered an accident at work while loading the 1500 kg sculpture "Woman with four breasts" in Mundelsheim and succumbed to his injuries. As part of the same show, an oversized chair by the artist was on display in Walheim .
