Mike Doyle (born April 26, 1968 in Sacramento ) is a former American - French basketball player .

career

Doyle played at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the United States from 1987 to 1989 . In the 1988/89 season, the two-meter-tall winger was together with Carrick DeHart the best scorer of the university team, both scoring 16.2 points per encounter.

Doyle played in Turkey at the beginning of his professional career , then in Angers in France . In the 1991/92 season he was in the squad of AEK Athens (Greece).

1994/95 he was in the service of Angers BC in France's second division, where he scored 21 points per encounter and got 7.1 rebounds per game (24 missions). Doyle strengthened La Rochelle in France in 1995/96 , was briefly in the same country in the 1996/97 season with first division club CSP Limoges  under contract (3.5 points / game in eight league appearances). He also took part in the European Champions Cup with Limoges . At the beginning of 1997 the separation took place. 1997/98 sat Doyle, for the 1998/99 season he went back to Angers BC, where he scored 15 points per use during the season, also came to 5.9 rebounds and 2.8 basket assists per game.

In the 1999/2000 game year Doyle was in the service of the Belgian team BBC Okapi Aalst . He led the Belgian league with 22.7 points per game, in the European Cup competition Saporta Cup he even scored an average of 24.9 points for Aalst (ten games). Doyle stayed in Belgium for another season, was national champion and Belgian cup winner in the 2000/01 season with Telindus Oostende at the side of JR Holden .

In the summer break of 2001 he accepted a contract offer from the German Bundesliga club Brandt Hagen , where he played under coach Brad Dean as in Aalst . Doyle was also good for many points in Hagen, and in the 2001/02 season he scored 18.8 points in 25 Bundesliga appearances. In a doping sample taken on March 2, 2002, the value of an inadmissible substance was found to be too high. Doyle had taken contaminated dietary supplements and was banned from playing 18 games. In 2002/03 there were 15.6 points per game that he recorded for Hagen (21 Bundesliga games).

At the beginning of the 2003/04 season he was under contract with Espoon Honka in the Finnish first division, then in December 2003 he moved to the EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the German Bundesliga. Doyle was used by the Lower Saxony in 25 Bundesliga games, he scored 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

In 2004/05 he was again a member of Okapi Aalst, now in the second Belgian division.
