Mike Reinhardt (born May 10, 1977 in Forbach ) is a French jazz guitarist .

Reinhardt began playing the guitar at the age of thirteen, which he taught himself self-taught with the help of records by Django Reinhardt , Wes Montgomery and George Benson . At the side of Dorado Schmitt , he first appeared in public at the age of 15. In 1995 he played in the band Shouka with Zipflo Reinhardt and Frédéric Schlick . At the age of 18 he founded his first band. During this time he met the guitarist Biréli Lagrène , with whom he has been a friend and musical partnership ever since.

His first album was released in 1998 (with Biréli Lagrène and Franck Wolf); in the same year he worked again with Schlick. In the next few years he continued to work with Zipflo Reinhardt, but also with Didier Lockwood . Then he performed in a duo - with the violinist Florin Niculescu , with the guitarist Andreas Öberg and with Gypsy Project - as well as in a quartet with his cousin Gin Reinhardt. In 2005 he founded the guitar sextet Les Enfants de Django with Yorgui Loeffler and other guitarists . In 2006 he was awarded as the best guitarist at the Jazz à Juan festival .

He is often confused with the German guitarist Mike Reinhardt, who also has his roots in gypsy jazz .
