Mike Wyatt (football coach)

William Michael "Mike" Wyatt (* 1955 - December 5, 2010 ) was an American football coach .

Life

Born in Grandfield in the US state of Oklahoma , Wyatt studied at Oklahoma Panhandle State University until 1982 . He was there from 1979 to 1981 assistant coach of the football team, then worked as a football coach at Atoka High School in Oklahoma and from 1986 to 1989 as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. There he was responsible for coordinating the attack game.

Wyatt led the Swedish team Stockholm Nordic Vikings as head coach in 1994 and 1995 to win the international Football League of Europe . In 1996, Wyatt was the head coach of Dodge City Community College in the US state of Kansas . From 1998 to 2003, the American was head coach of the Rüsselsheim Razorbacks in the top German division GFL . In 1999, 2002 and 2003 the team won the main round championship in the southern season under his leadership, and in 2003 they advanced to the semi-finals for the German championship. Upon his return to the United States, Wyatt worked from 2004 as the head coach and managing director of RiverCity Rage, a St. Louis- based team in the NIFL indoor football league .

In 2007 he took over the post of head coach at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Under his leadership, the team played a season for the first time since 2004 in which they brought in more wins than defeats. Wyatt, who had a daughter, died of a heart attack at the age of 55.
