Mikhail Sergejewitsch Ledowskich ( Russian Михаил Сергеевич Ледовских ; born August 8, 1986 in Almaty , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Russian tennis player .

Career

Ledovskich started playing tennis at the age of seven after his family moved to Sochi from Kazakhstan .

He mainly plays on the ITF Future Tour and the ATP Challenger Tour . In 2005 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour with a wildcard at the tournament in Moscow , where he lost to Paul Goldstein 2: 6, 4: 6. In the following years he made repeated appearances on the ATP Tour until he was able to prevail against an opponent for the first time in Bangkok in 2006 . Against Michael Ryderstedt he won in two sets before he had to bow to Paradorn Srichaphan in three sets.

In 2007 he achieved his only tournament victory so far on the Challenger Tour in Astana . He defeated Björn Phau in the final after profiting from an injury to Rainer Schüttler in the semifinals . In the same year he was able to move up into the top 200 of the world rankings for the first time, up to his previous highest position 151 in 2008. In 2016 he played a professional tournament for the last time.
