The Mikhail Svetlov ( Russian Михаил Светлов , German transcription Michail Swetlow ) is a river cruise ship that was built in 1985 by the Österreichische Schiffswerften AG Linz in Korneuburg / Austria and initially sold to the Ob-Irtysh river shipping company ( Russian Обетоеч) скохетод сроход in Tyumen was extradited. It belongs to the Sergey Yesenin class (project Q-065). The ship was named after the Soviet poet Michail Swetlow and christened by the Chancellor's wife Christine Vranitzky .

history

After the handover to the Ob-Irtysh River Shipping Company ( Russian: Обь-Иртышское речное пароходство ) in Tyumen ( Soviet Union ) (Russian. "Советский Союз") the ship was only put into operation in April 1986. In 1988 she was handed over further east to the Lena River Shipping Company ( Russian Ленское речное пароходство ) in Yakutsk , until it was sold to the Alrosa, the current owner of the ship, in 1998 for financial reasons.
