society

Danielsen started his career at MB Miðvágur . There he was a defender and known for his good technique and speed. In addition, Danielsen was considered to be particularly keen and voluntarily trained more than the club intended. His first game he completed on the second match day of the 1978 season in the first division in the away game against KÍ Klaksvík , which ended 3: 3. In 1980, the league had to be left as the last place. In 1983 he returned to the top division for a year. In 1990 and 1991 he played with the club again at the highest level and achieved the club's best league placement ever with third place in the first year, also reached the semi-finals in the cup , with Danielsen only being used in the 3-0 first leg defeat against KÍ Klaksvík . From 1992 he played only second class with MB . This year he was with the club again in the semi-finals of the Cup, but failed in two games with 1: 1 and 0: 3 again to KÍ Klaksvík. In 1994 he moved to league rivals FS Vágar , for whose first team he initially played. As second in the league, he made it to the top division. The following year Danielsen completed group games in the cup, after which he was mainly only used in the second team, which played in the second division. In 1996 he played the first games again for the second team, in the second half of the season he then played for the first team and also played the second relegation game for relegation against EB / Streymur , which after the 7-2 win in the first leg with 5 : 2 could be won. In 1997 he played alternately for the A and B team and was also used in both relegation games of FS Vágar II against NSÍ Runavík II . In the 4-1 first leg win he scored 2-0 from the penalty spot, but the second leg ended with a 7-0 defeat, which led to relegation in his last season as a player. In the same year, the first team lost the relegation against the second division.

Mikkjal Danielsen is still connected to MB Miðvágur and, among other things, looked after the soccer girls in 2007.

National team

Danielsen came to 18 caps for the national team between 1988 and 1992 . The first game he completed on August 24, 1988 against Iceland in Akranes , which was lost 0-1 and was also the first official international game of the Faroe Islands. According to the Faroese sports journalist Finnur Helmsdal , Danielsen made too little of his player personality and showed too little self-confidence as a national player. In the international match against Austria , which the Faroese sensationally won 1-0 , he played the "game of his life". On September 9, 1992 he was in the qualifying game for the 1994 World Cup in the 0: 6 against Wales in Cardiff for the last time for the national team on the field.

Personal

Danielsen works full-time as a machinist.
