Miklós Óvári

Miklós Óvári (* 24. August 1925 in Soroksárpéteri , Pestszentlőrinc , Budapest ; † 10. May 2003 in Budapest) was a Hungarian politician of the Communist Party KMP (Kommunisták Magyarországi partja) , Hungarian Working People's Party MDP (Magyar Dolgozók partja) and finally the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party MSZMP (Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt) , which was among other things the secretary of the MSZMP Central Committee for many years. On the XI. Studies and party official

Coming from a family of intellectuals, Óvári began studying history at the Péter Pázmány Catholic University after attending grammar school in Pestszentlőrinc, graduating in 1948 with a teaching degree. During his studies he joined the Communist Party KMP (Kommunisták Magyarországi Pártja) in 1945 and, after graduating, attended the party college of the MDP, where he himself became a lecturer in 1954.

Shortly afterwards, in 1954, he began studying at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow and, after his return to Hungary in 1957, resumed teaching at the party college of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party MSZMP (Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt) , which had now emerged from the MDP , before joining the Changed party headquarters as an employee of the Central Committee's department for agitation and propaganda and became deputy head of department there in 1961.
