Mila Mar is a German alternative band. The band's hallmark is the fantasy language in which singer Anke Hachfeld writes her songs.

history

Mila Mar were founded at the end of 1994 in the Wiesenmühle in Marth near Göttingen . The band first performed at the same location on March 16, 1996.

After four released albums and three singles, Mila Mar announced in December 2002, three months before their last album was released, that Meyer and Beischer would leave the band. In 2004, Tobias Unterberg ( The Inchtabokatables , Deine Lakaien ), Lars Watermann and Jan Klemm (The Inchtabokatables) added personnel for one last tour. At the same time, Anke Hachfeld started her new Milù project .

Although Mila Mar never officially dissolved, Anke Hachfeld ruled out the continuation of the project in an interview at the Wave Gotik Treffen in 2005 :

"With Mila Mar? We don't play live anymore! We won't play anymore, at least nothing looks like it anymore. With Milú we will be with Dirk and Lars, who also played with Mila Mar. We'll all play the next live things under Milú, Mila Mar will no longer exist. "

- Anke Hachfeld in an interview with Maximilian Nitschke

After the band asked their fans about concert ideas on Facebook at the beginning of 2015 , Mila Mar played her first concert in around 11 years at the Wave Gotik Treffen 2015.

Further live concerts followed in 2016 and 2017, among others in Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig and Hanover ( ice cream factory ). In October 2018 Katrin Beischer announced that she was leaving the band for personal reasons.
