Miles Joseph (born May 2, 1974 in West Springfield , Massachusetts ) is a retired American football player.

Player career

Youth and college

Joseph was born in Massachusetts but grew up in Clifton Park, New York. He attended the local Shenendehowa High School and finished it in 1992. During this time he was able to win the state championships three times with the school team. In the fall of 1992 he moved to Clemson University .

professional

In the 1996 MLS College Draft, Joseph was selected by the MetroStars . With the team from New Jersey he played until the beginning of the 2000 season before he was sent to the Columbus crew in exchange for another draft. At the end of the season he moved to Dallas Burn . There he was released after a season.

On February 13, 2003, he signed with the Dallas Sidekicks, who were then playing in the Major Indoor Soccer League . Here he stood seven times before ending his career as a footballer.

National team

Joseph was nominated for the USA U-20 selection for the Junior Soccer World Cup 1993 in Australia. He scored a goal in the game against Turkey. The team made it to the quarter-finals. He was also nominated for the 1996 US Olympic squad. Together with the USA U-23 selection, however, he did not get beyond the group stage.

Joseph completed his first international match for the US national soccer team on August 30, 1996 against El Salvador. In total, he played three times for the USA.

Career as a coach

On August 5, 2003, Joseph became the assistant coach of the women's team at Siena College in Loudonville, New York. From 2010 to 2014 he was an assistant coach for the Real Salt Lake team . In late 2014, he followed Jason Kreis to New York City FC .
