The military court building in Flensburg - Westliche Höhe at Molktestrasse 18 is one of the city's cultural monuments .

background

During the imperial era , parts of the Prussian army were stationed in the Fördestadt . In 1876/77 the Duburg barracks and 1893–1897 the Junkerhohlweg barracks were built for the stationed Prussian units . Since the beginning of the 20th century, a time when the city was growing rapidly (see population development of Flensburg ), more military buildings for the Imperial Navy were built in the suburb of Mürwik , northeast of the city center . In 1900, about one kilometer from the Duburg barracks, the aforementioned military court building was built for the 18th division . A master mason Ernst George was responsible for the construction of the three-storey plastered building . The building facade has a risalit on the right and left side . The right risalit was increased in 1911 for an apartment for the messenger of the military tribunal . A third risalit, a "staircase risalit", is located on the back of the building. A representation of the Justitia , in duplicate, on the facade on the first floor, emphasizes the original use of the building. The military court building now serves as a residential building.
