Millingen is a district of the city of Rheinberg in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1939 Millingen was an independent municipality in what was then the district of Moers .
geography
Millingen is about two kilometers northwest of the Rheinberg core city between the federal highway 57 and the railway line from Rheinberg to Xanten . The former municipality of Millingen had an area of 1.87 km².
history
Millingen formed a rural community in the Prussian mayorship of the Alps since the 19th century . This belonged to the Geldern district until 1857 and to the Moers district since 1857.
On April 1, 1939, Millingen was incorporated into the municipality of Alpen . Due to the Lower Rhine Act , Millingen was reclassified from the municipality of Alpen to the city of Rheinberg on January 1, 1975 and has been part of the Wesel district since then.
