Mindelheim via ferrata

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mindelheimer Klettersteig leads over the three Schafalpenköpfe (highest point 2,320 m) in the Allgäu Alps . It is a medium-difficult category C via ferrata . The starting point is either the Mindelheimer Hütte at 2,013 m or the Fiderepasshütte at 2,067 m. In general, it is recommended to start the climb from the Fiderepasshütte, as most climbers are on their way in this direction. An inspection in the opposite direction can result in an uncomfortable amount of oncoming traffic. The via ferrata, built in 1975, was renovated in 2007 and is very well secured. In addition to challenging areas, it also offers a lot of, albeit unsecured, walking terrain. The difficulty of the via ferrata is C, 2.

A vertical 15 m wall and a bridge over a crevice within sight of the Fiderepasshütte are the highlights of this tour with great views. A head for heights , surefootedness , stable weather and good physical condition are necessary for an inspection . In addition, the via ferrata set and a helmet are required for via ferrata . The time required for an inspection is around three to five hours.

Huts

Without an overnight stay in a hut, the walking time is 9 hours and 1650 meters, which is why it is advisable to spend the night at the Fiderepasshütte or the Mindelheimer Hütte .
