Minh Ly (born March 24, 1967 in Vietnam ) is a professional American- Vietnamese poker player . Ly currently resides in Temple City , California .

Career

His first significant position in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas reached Ly in 2001 , when he was in a tournament of third parties and for more than 50,000  US dollars received. In the same year he reached another place in the prize money. The following year, he finished ninth in the Main Event , for which he cashed $ 85,000. At the 2005 WSOP , Ly achieved four prize money placements. In one tournament he only had to admit defeat to Doyle Brunson . In the same year he secured 19th place in the main event . In addition, Ly won the second North American Poker Championship on October 18, 2005 , in which he prevailed against Dan Harrington in the heads-up . The victory in this Main Event of the World Poker Tour earned him over a million dollars.

In total, Ly has made almost four million dollars with poker in live tournaments. In addition to his tournament successes, he is known as a cash game specialist. Ly took part in the second season of High Stakes Poker . He also plays regularly in the Big Game at the Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas.
