Minoría Activa is a hardcore punk band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, founded in 1991 .
history
Minoría Activa was founded in 1991 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires and consists of the six musicians The Moncho ( vocals ), Ariel Estrella (vocals), Chapu ( electric guitar ), Dr. Hyntu (electric guitar), as well as Tato ( electric bass , background vocals ) and Ulrich ( drums ). The music is a mix of classic hardcore punk and metal . The texts, which are all written in Spanish , mostly deal with social grievances.
The group has already played at concerts with bands such as Sick of It All , Biohazard , Shelter , Agnostic Front , Better Than a Thousand and Ratos de Porão . The group also played concerts in Argentina , Chile , Brazil and Uruguay . In July 2002 the group played at the ANIMAL Fest that the band ANIMAL organized. The rock band Cadena Perpetua also played .
In 1994 a split tape was released with the band Buenas Intenciones. Two years earlier, Minoría Activa had released their debut album, which was reissued in 1997 via Resiste Records. It was produced by Flavio Cianciarullo, bassist for the band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs . In 1999, Theseveninchsessions released a CD with new recordings of the band's first seven songs. In 2000 the second studio album Principio del Fin was released with thirteen pieces and a cover song by the band Cock Sparrer . This was reissued in 2003. Two years later, the group released a best-of CD with the best pieces from 1994 to 1997. In 2005, Neo Nemesis was released via X El Cambio Records / Universal Records, the band's third album. In 2008 another best-of album was released with 15 Años Gritando en el Infierno . In 2011 the album Donde Nadie Pertenece was released on X El Cambio Records. Guest vocalists include Evan ( Biohazard ) and Craig Setari ( Sick of It All ).
In December 2012, the group celebrated its 20th anniversary with a concert at the La Trastienda Club .
